About Me January 15, 2010

JeRi MiChElLe BrAcKeTt

It was on a cold winter’s night in late December, December 21, 1987, to be exact that a lady by the name of Lisa Brackett presented me to the world. I was late by two weeks and a miracle in the medical world. My mother had a horrific horseback riding accident when she was younger and that’s when I was discovered. The doctors gave me little or no chance to survive. They went as far to say that if I survived I would be handicapped and would live a maximum of two to five years. My parents gave me a chance when no one else would and I feel so blessed to have my family. They are one of the many things I am passionate about. I feel so privileged to be living this life. We are promised only this very moment and I try to live as though this may be my last.

I like the body that surrounds me at this minute. Well, I want to exercise more but we all need goals. My hair could be compare to a squirrel’s nest. It is blonde curly ribbons of many layers shaping my face and hiding my eyes at times. My eyes are like that of the clear blue sky on a hot summer’s day. My frame is petite and my bones are small. My wrists are exactly the size of my thumb and first finger around it. Most would say that I have abnormally long arms in proportion to my short legs. My toenails are usually decorated with a bright color and a toe-ring located on my left foot. A callous can be spotted on my first finger because I am left handed and I use this finger to write with. My skin is like that of an island girl. I am slightly tan in the winter and then I tan really dark in the summer. Overall I am a small girl with big dreams.

Lizzy

After twenty-two years I have come to accept that I am a perfectionist even when I try to play it off that I’m not. I like to organize to the point where even my vegetables have their own place in the cabinet. I love my country but I can get uncomfortable when discussing government. I have a keen nose for the broken hearted and I like to take time to comfort them because everyone needs somebody. That brings me to another layer of myself, I am a hopeless romantic. I still believe my Romeo is out there ready to sweep me off my feet as we begin to write our love story together.  Religion plays a huge part in my life and holds the key to my heart. I love my Jesus! I enjoy spending time outside. Fishing, hunting, or playing with the dogs is the perfect stress reducer. Nobody can love you like your dog can, and my miniature schnauzer, Lizzy, is one of the biggest joys in my life.

Crab Legs

I also love foods of all kinds. Crab legs, grilled salmon, spaghetti, fiesta lime chips, deserts of all kinds, and much more are loves in my life.  Holden Beach is my oasis in this life. I go there to collect my thoughts and gather my sanity. I love the way the ocean breeze whips through my hair, and the way the waves keep coming in to say hello. I enjoy the state of mind people at the beach posses. I enjoy that feeling of nowhere to go and nowhere to be.Andy Danielle and I

I do not like cold weather. It keeps me bundled up and trapped, when I very much enjoy feeling free. I love the beach and would stay on the shores of Holden Beach North Carolina if it were practical at the moment. I do not like gloomy people because when I am around others that are miserable they tend to rub off on me and it tends to ruin my radical mood. I do not like the feeling of being behind or late. I very much enjoy being on time and on task. I am a fireman’s granddaughter and I like to know the situation at hand, and where the nearest exit is located. I do not like cloudy nights because I enjoy star gazing. I do not like it when people smack there food, it is a pet peeve of mine. Overall I enjoy life and the people in it.
